Portneuf Grille and Lounge

You might not be expecting a five-star French restaurant in a town as tiny as Lava Hot Springs, but you can find one! Portneuf Grille and Lounge has some of the finest dining in all of Idaho. Ask for their finest wine, get appetizers for the table, enjoy a fabulous entrée, and finish it off with a heavenly dessert. It's definitely expensive, but it is so worth it. Their menu also changes throughout the year, so it warrants a visit no matter when you visit the springs.

Chuck Wagon

While Portneuf Grille and Lounge was more a traditional 'fine dining' experience, Chuck Wagon is a classic American diner where you'll find big portions and bigger personality. If you want some cheaper dining with excellent food, this diner warrants a visit. Fan favorites are their breakfast omelets, their burgers, chicken-fried steak, tacos, and even their wraps. No matter what you are in the mood for, you'll be able to find something to satisfy your hunger. It tends to be one of the busier restaurants since it is right on Main Street, so keep that in mind.

Riverwalk Thai Food

For the foodies looking for something tasty but a little different, Riverwalk Thai Food is the first place you should plan on for dinner. The restaurant is on the easternmost side of town, where a Thai family converted an old gas station into a trendy eatery. This is another classic fine dining spot to test out. Green curry is the perfect dish on a cold winter night, but you can also get Asian cuisine with lo mien and rice. The quaint restaurant is one of the hidden gems in town that you'll be begging to return to.
